The Verge did a great job with a quick summation video of what to look for in a privacy policy when reviewing, hopefully before you have accepted it or begun to use the service. A quick scan for a few key things can give you a very good idea of what the service collects, what they will (or won’t) do with your data,  and who they share it with.
