Have Mic - Will Podcast.

A fellow Detroit-area CISO, Erik Wille, and I have been talking about doing a podcast together for at least two years now. Long, long ago (eight long weeks ago), at a CISO event (remember when we could get in a room together and eat and chat at the same table along with people who we didn't live with?) Erik and I met Brian Schneble and embarked on an evening-long discussion about security, privacy and our respective inclinations to look at things from multiple different angles.

Fast forward to today and we have recorded the first episode of this new podcast which we are calling, "The Great Security Debate." The show is set up a little differently than most of the other security podcasts I have listened to and almost feels more like an ESPN Radio morning show in which the participants are engaged in a discussion about a topic, talking about it from different points of view, shifting from one perspective to another, and trying to get a broad understanding of the topic at hand.

The first episode is all about Privacy. We cover every thing from one's expectations of privacy to privacy as a business enabler; transparency and ethical increase of privacy to how much should we expect that our leaders and legislators understand about privacy and technology.

In future episodes we will move back toward the security realm and cover more topics, as we take defined (and often opposing) positions on that topic. Just like any debate this means that we will be arguing points that we don't necessarily agree with, and don't necessarily represent the opinions of those that we work with or for, and may not even represent our own actual opinions on the topic. All in the name of meaningful debate, right?
